Impact Performance
- The impact energy of standard Mn18Cr2 is 120-150 J/cm²
- The impact energy of Microalloy steel is 80-90 J/cm²
The result show the microalloy steel jaw plates have a lower impact energy.
Tensile Performance
- The standard Mn18Cr2 tensile strength is around 600-800 MPa; Yield strength is around 520-580 MPa; Elongation and shrinkage is around 22-28%;
- The Microalloy steel tensile strength is around 600-800 MPa; Yield strength is around 520-580 MPa; Elongation and shrinkage is around 10-14%;
The result shows the tensile strength and yield strength are the same, but the elongation and shrinkage had changed a lot. The Microalloy steel jaw plates elongation and shrinkage just half of the standard.
Metallographic Analysis
Compare with the standard Mn18Cr2, the Microalloy steel surface hardness is higher which more than HB190; Grain size get Grade 2; More dispersed carbides are formed inside the grains which increase the wear and tear.
